Our Mission Statement
Our Mission is very simple. We wish to provide you with a useful, free service, and become popular enough, with enough traffic, that this stupid site can finally pay for itself with a tiny AdSense Google ad down in the bottom left.

Early on in this website's life, it was originally known as "Vancouver Rentals" and it lived at www.vancouverrentals.com lane.

Rick Perreault, a great guy who was fun to work with, co-created the idea with me, and we resolved to make sure the site was free to use--both to list rentals, and to view them.

Back then, I made a promise to you, the user: I (Marc Tooley) promised I would keep the site free as long as I possibly could. I promised this in the spirit of freedom and simple goodwill.

One day, being a student, I could no longer afford the $50/month hosting fees. Yes, I was broke. Damn broke. Real broke. Close to starving, gotta borrow money from Dad just to feed me and my wife broke. It was pretty harsh.

Then Rick went AWOL.

I had to take the server down. It was a sad day. I had trouble letting go, because I believe in doing my utmost to keep my promises.

Then one day, I got a job that paid me a monthly cheque large enough that I could afford the hosting fees again.

Soon after that, a nice fellow by the name of Barry Znidarsic decided he wanted to re-design the site to make it look better. Great, says I. Go for it. See if you can make some money off it. But keep it free to use.

Barry thought of all kinds of great ideas, and made good on his re-designing word.

These days, Barry has decided to branch out a bit more, and not put so many eggs in one basket.

Thus, I've assumed control of it again, and it's going back to its original premise. It's free for you, the users.

And I'm back to keeping my promise.
